Plan Your Family Dinners Effortlessly

Hi, I'm Chris. I built this at my kitchen table over the past year — a side project that grew while I stepped back from IT to recharge. It's my way of taking "what's for dinner?" off my wife's plate while she holds things down for our family. Free, no ads, no signup. 350+ recipes, weekly or monthly plans, and shopping lists that build themselves.

What it does

Nothing fancy — just the things I wanted my own meal-planner to do.

Automatic Meal Plans

Generate weekly or monthly dinner plans with no repeats.

Smart Shopping Lists

Automatic shopping lists with quantities adjusted for your family size and organized by category.

Ingredient Search

Enter ingredients you have at home and discover recipes you can make right now, or find what you're missing.

Print-Friendly

Print individual recipes, complete meal plans, or shopping lists for easy kitchen reference.

Favorites & Preferences

Save your favorite recipes for quick access and prioritized meal planning. Filter by dietary needs, allergies, cuisine types, and budget.

I read every email

If you send me a bug, a recipe, or an idea, I read it. Half the things on the What's New page came from people just like you.

How It Works

Simple steps to get your family meal plan ready

1

Set Preferences

Choose family size, dietary restrictions, budget, and cooking time preferences.

2

Generate Plan

The planner picks recipes so you're not eating the same thing twice in a fortnight, and steers toward your dietary mix.

3

Review & Save Favorites

Replace any meal with alternatives, save recipes you love to favorites, and get your automatic shopping list.

4

Shop & Cook

Print your shopping list and recipes, then enjoy stress-free family dinners!

A note from me

Custard slice I made this week.

Hi, I'm Chris. I built Family Meal Wizard from my kitchen table over the past year — a quiet side project that grew while I stepped back from a long stretch in IT to recharge and spend more time on the things I love.

I love cooking. Trying new recipes, planning the week's meals, making the weekly shop a bit easier on a tight budget. With my wife holding things down for our family, this little app was my way of taking some weight off her shoulders and making "what's for dinner?" answer itself.

Everything here is free. No ads, no signups, no email collection, no tracking. That was the whole point — a meal-planning tool that respects you. The 350+ recipes are hand-checked, the meal plan generator is mine, the shopping list logic is mine. Built honestly because I wanted to give something useful back to the community while I had the time.

If it's helped your family too, a small donation goes a long way:

  • It pays for the time to keep adding new recipes (I'm adding more every week).
  • If there's ever enough support, I'd love to build cross-device sync — favourites and meal plans on every browser instead of just the one you're using right now.

No pressure either way. The site stays free and ad-free regardless. But if it's saved you a few headaches and you want to chip in the price of a coffee, it means more than you know.

— Chris
